Only one player knows Barcelona target Nico Williams’ plans for next season

A fresh insight into the future of in-demand Athletic Club star Nico Williams has come to the fore on Sunday night.

This, of course, comes amid an evening which has seen the name of wide-man Williams take its place front and centre in the headlines once more.

Amid the ongoing efforts of Barcelona to bring the Spanish international to the Camp Nou for next season, a bombshell claim was forthcoming in the Spanish media.

In news which spread like wildfire, it was reported that Nico has come to the decision to rebuff the advances of the Barca brass, in favour of staying put at Athletic Club next season.

Sources close to the situation, however, have since been quick to refute such claims. The reality, in fact, is that little has changed when it comes to Nico’s future.

As per a report from Nico Rodríguez of El Chiringuito TV:

‘The uncertainty is total and everything remains the same. Nico [is] enjoying his vacation.’

It is added that even the Spaniard’s Athletic Club teammates remain in the dark when it comes to his plans beyond the summer.

That is, all but one teammate…

The one player who has been kept in the loop when it comes to Williams’ intentions, it is understood, is brother and fellow Athletic star Iñaki.
