‘Only club’ – Barcelona fans will love Szczęsny’s comments on coming out of retirement
Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona will no doubt be thrilled with the comments laid out by new signing Wojciech Szczęsny on Wednesday.
It is of course ‘Szczęsny day’ in Catalunya’s capital, the Pole having at last sealed his long-awaited Barcelona switch.
After being sought out on the back of the long-term injury suffered by Blaugrana no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen, Szczęsny this morning penned terms with Hansi Flick’s side through the close of the term.
And this is not a decision which the former Juventus and Arsenal man took lightly…
Speaking to the media for the first time as a Barcelona player on Wednesday night, Szczęsny was drawn on what no doubt came as a difficult call to come out of retirement.
And his ensuing comments will come as music to the ears of the Blaugrana faithful.
“I wouldn’t have come out of retirement for any other club,” the experienced shot-stopper confirmed.
