Only 40 minutes from Bellingham, this place is perfect for your next day trip

Looking for summer activities outside of Bellingham? As Whatcom County residents may rather take a fun day trip than pay for an overnight stay, the Semiahmoo Resort has a lineup of events, activities and restaurants that do not require you to book a hotel room.

Semiahmoo Resort is only about a 40-minute drive from downtown Bellingham, and offers beautiful views of the Semiahmoo Bay and Canadian islands.

Here’s what activities and events non-hotel guests can enjoy at Semiahmoo Resort:

▪ Dine at three various restaurants. Semiahmoo Resort homes Packers Kitchen and Bar, Great Blue Heron Grill and Seaview Cafe. Packers Kitchen and Bar offers waterfront brunch, happy hour and dinner menus. The Great Blue Heron Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with views of the resort’s golf course. The Seaview Cafe has grab-and-go beverages, espresso, baked goods, snacks, beer and a gift shop.

▪ Outdoor games. Various lawn games such as ladder golf, giant Connect Four, corn hole, horseshoes, and volleyball are free to use outside, but are not available in rainy weather.

▪ The Spa at Semiahmoo. The spa is open to everyone and if you make an appointment, you will also have access to the resort’s sauna, pool, hot tub and steam room. ▪ Semiahmoo Sips events. The Semiahmoo Sips wine tasting events are open to the public and take place from 2-4 p.m. every Saturday. The event costs $20 per person and includes four wine tastings and 15% off bottles of wine from the cellars.

Other activities and amenities such as bonfires, the pool and hot tub, biking, fitness center access, tennis, pickleball and movie showings are only for resort guests. The Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club and golf simulator only allows club members and resort guests.
