One Chiefs player took special note of Raiders throwing shade at Patrick Mahomes

Putting aside the three Super Bowl MVPs and two NFL MVP awards that he’s won, we got two more reminders this week that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the NFL’s biggest star.

And he’s living rent free in the heads of the Chiefs opponents.

First up was Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase refusing to say Mahomes’ name during an interview with NFL Films.

“I’m not saying that guy’s name,” Chase said in a viral video shared Wednesday by the NFL. “He’s good, he’s amazing. He’s good. I’m not gonna lie. I’m salty though. I’m a little salty.”

Then the Raiders showed the world how they have Mahomes on their mind. At practice, they brought out a Kermit the Frog doll that was wearing a Mahomes Chiefs jersey.

The Raiders players laughed with glee.

The Chiefs had the day off from training camp on Thursday but as they gather again Friday in St. Joseph, you can bet that video has been a topic of conversation among the players.

Safety Justin Reid already has the dates of the two Chiefs-Raiders games circled on his calendar. Reid didn’t mention the Raiders throwing shade at Mahomes in his Insta story post, but he did include a photo of him tackling a Las Vegas player.
