“One of the best decisions of my life.” – Harry Kane on joining Bayern Munich

When Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, there was great anticipation regarding how the England captain would perform in the Bundesliga.

Considering the former Tottenham Hotspur striker had never won a career trophy, there was also an added pressure that came with the move to the record champions.

However, in Bavaria, Kane has been unable to break his title duck, as Der Rekordmeister failed to lift a trophy over the course of a season for the first time in twelve years.

Nevertheless, from a personal perspective, the Englishman had one of his finest seasons, registering 44 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances for Bayern.

This saw Kane be awarded the Golden Shoe by kicker, where the 31-year-old reflected on his decision to leave Tottenham last summer, claiming it to be “one of the best decisions of my life.”

With Vincent Kompany now in the Bayern dugout, Kane also explained that there is renewed confidence that the Bavarian outfit will be able to lift the Meisterschale once again:

“The team is hungry; the coach is hungry to be successful.”

Having kicked off their Bundesliga season with a 3-2 victory over Wolfsburg, Der Rekordmeister will be hoping to maintain their positive momentum and reclaim dominance over German football.
