Pavel Rosa played two seasons in the QMJHL, both with Hull Olympiques. In total, he amassed a whopping 109 goals and 268 points in only 129 regular season games played.
In his rookie season, the Czech-born forward finished third in scoring on his team with 46 goals and 116 points in 61 games played. He added another 14 goals and 36 points in 18 postseason games.
Although he had an excellent rookie campaign, his second season in the league is what cemented him as an all-time great. In 68 regular season games, Rosa led the QMJHL in scoring with 63 goals and 152 points to become the first European-born player to win the CHL Top Scorer Award. In the postseason, his 18 goals and 31 points made him an important piece of an Olympiques team that won both the President’s Cup and the Memorial Cup.
Rosa was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with the 50th overall pick in the 1995 NHL entry draft. He put up five goals and 18 points in 36 regular season games. He never appeared in a postseason game in the NHL.
Pavel has two sons, Alex and Adrien, who are following in the same steps as their father. They are both currently playing high level junior hockey in Switzerland.
