Olympiques Drop Three: Hodgins, Labranche and Pigeon
The Gatineau Olympiques made a slew a moves, dropping three players from their roster.
The most notable of which is goaltender Kian Hodgins.
Hodgins, 17, was projected to battle then-starting goaltender Zach Pelletier for the No. 1 job in Gatineau. Hodgins did come out on top in that goalie battle, as Pelletier was recently dealt to Rouyn-Noranda and Hodgins leads the Olympiques in goalie games' played. However, the team seems to be going in a different direction.
The 2025 NHL draft eligible had an .849 save percentage across 11 games, good enough for the third highest save percentage on the team.
The team also parted ways with left winger William Labranche.
Much like Hodgins, Labranche was also a carry-over from last season, scoring 18 points (11+7) over 54 games in 2023-24.
This season, his performance hasn't improved -- with just one goal and two assists over 12 games with the team.
The team also dropped their 2024 fourth round pick, centerman Charles Pigeon.
Pigeon, 16, had two points (1+1) over 25 games.
As Pigeon is still so young, he'll be back with the Olympiques training camp next summer
