Olympics opening ceremony order as Parade of Nations takes to the Seine
Editor’s note: Follow Olympics opening ceremony live updates.
The 2024 Paris Olympic Games' opening ceremony will go where no other opening ceremony has gone before: on a river.
The 2024 Games will officially begin in just hours with its opening ceremony down the Seine scheduled for July 26 at 1:30 p.m. ET. All participating nations will have a delegation "march" in the ceremony's traditional Parade of Nations. This year, that means 205 countries will have representation in the parade.
As has been the case for previous Olympics opening ceremonies, Greece will lead the procession, followed by the Refugee Olympic Team. France, as the host nation, will be the final country represented in the parade and is immediately preceded by the hosts of the next two Summer Games: Australia (2032) before the United States (2028).
All 200 countries in between are ordered alphabetically based on their country's name in French.
Here is the full order for the 2024 Paris Games' Parade of Nations.
