Oilers: Like Water Off A Duck's Back
EDMONTON -- "Like water off a duck's back."
The Edmonton Oilers earned only one point in yesterday's matinee against the Los Angeles Kings. Now, they turn their attention toward their next game and their next opponent.
The Anaheim Ducks aren't in the same position that the Kings are. But it's still a division rival, and they still need to find a way to win and come away with two points.
Like water off a duck's back.
To beat the Ducks, they will have to be like ducks. Ducks have a complicated system of feathers that allows them to stay warm and keeps them waterproof. This fun feature of the unique bird inspired the phrase "like water off a duck's back."

Yesterday's loss will need to be the water and the Oilers, ducks.
Don't throw the tape out, but don't dwell on what went wrong. Make an adjustment or two and move on.
The Ducks will be looking to do the same, as they lost a 3-1 decision to the visiting Philadelphia Flyers yesterday. Despite being on the road, both teams are in the same position in today's game.
Looking at the big picture, this game doesn't seem important. Yes, the Ducks are at the bottom of the standings but are also a Pacific Division team. Beating them would mean taking two points from them.
A four-point game, as hockey pundits like to point out.
So tune in today at 2:00 PM Mountain time to see which team bounces back from their loss.
Like water off of a duck's back, indeed.
