Oilers Superstar Makes Play You Must See To Believe

EDMONTON -- Connor McWho?

The Edmonton Oilers were in action last night against the Vancouver Canucks. The Oilers won the game by a decisive 6-2 score. It was the second game of Connor McDavid's three-game suspension.

With the captain watching from the sidelines, someone had to step up. That someone was Leon Draisaitl.

Boy, did he step up.

Draisaitl currently leads the league with 35 goals, but that wasn't his most impressive play last night against the Canucks.

The Oilers were attempting to get the puck out of their own zone. Draisaitl was circling the defensive zone. Then, he buttonhooks beside the Oilers' net, two Canucks' forecheckers close in on him, then he shovels a pass from beside the net all the way to just outside of the Canucks' blueline.

It bounces off the wall and onto the tape of Zach Hyman's stick. He then proceeds to score on Thatcher Demko.

No one else on the Oilers team can make that play. Not even McDavid.

Draisaitl is an uncanny double threat. He can score at will and make breathtaking backhand passes.

Last night, he was named the game's second star. He finished the game with one goal and two assists. Draisaitl played 21:55, which was the most of any of the forwards.

Draisaitl is having an incredible season. In 48 games, he has 35 goals and 39 assists for 74 points, putting him on pace for a 126-point season.

Nathan MacKinnon leads the league in scoring. Draisaitl only trails him by a single point.

There is plenty of season left to be played, but as long as the Oilers have Draisaitl, they'll be fine.

Draisaitl will be able to hold down the fort until the captain returns.
