Oilers Reveal Lines With New Forward

EDMONTON -- It's a new day.

New days breed new opportunities. The newest Edmonton Oilers forward will have a golden opportunity ahead of them tonight.

Kasperi Kapanen, freshly plucked off of waivers, will slot into the lineup for tonight's game. Recently called-up Drake Caggiula will also play tonight.

By the looks of things, the Oilers will return to a 12-6 formation.

The top line of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Vasily Podkolzin remains intact for tonight's matchup. The third line of Adam Henrique, Mattias Janmark, and Connor Brown will also stay untouched.

Kapanen will play the wing alongside Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jeff Skinner. Caggiula will join Derek Ryan and Corey Perry on the team's fourth line.

Two of the team's defense pairings will also be different. Brett Kulak will pair up with Troy Stecher, while Travis Dermott and Ty Emberson will be the team's third pairing. Darnell Nurse was also on the ice skating.

Tonight, Oilers fans will be getting a close-up look at Kapanen's game for the first time. They will look to keep the momentum they built up from their win against the Ottawa Senators the other night and improve on their 10-8-2 record.

Fans should also keep their eyes on Podkolzin, who can't keep up his unlucky streak. The puck will be dropped just after 7:00 P.M. tonight. The game will be televised on Sportsnet West.
