Oilers Leon Draisaitl Single-Handedly Makes Goal Happen
EDMONTON -- Goal scorers know how to score goals.
Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl is no stranger to scoring goals. Before tonight's game against the Vancouver Canucks he was leading the team in points (16) and goals (9).
After the first three minutes of the opening frame, Draisaitl scored his 10th goal of the season.
Draisaitl drifted to the net as Connor McDavid crashed it with the puck. After a loose puck came his direction on the powerplay, he scooped it up and easily delivered it to the back of the net.
What was more impressive than the goal was Draisaitl's effort to keep the play alive.
This play by Leon Draisaitl to keep the play alive was unreal. The one handed pass to Ekholm is ridiculous. He scored 5 seconds later. pic.twitter.com/BQjThKg84l

While under intense forechecking pressure, he fumbles a pass, recovers the puck, crosses the puck over to the other side of his body, and one-hands the puck back to the point to a waiting Mattias Ekholm.
Ekholm then passed the puck back to Draisaitl, who dished it on McDavid.
With his 10th goal tonight, he moves into a seven-way tie for fourth in goals. Three players are tied for the most goals with 11: Nikita Kucherov, Sam Reinhart, and William Nylander.
