Oilers Make Head-Scratching Addition To Roster
It's good to have extra bodies, just in case.
The Edmonton Oilers have an extra body at forward on their roster. However, with a four-game road trip beginning tonight (with a lot of travel), it doesn't hurt to have another defender around.
Which brings us to today's news.
Josh Brown has been recalled from the Bakersfield Condors. The right-handed defender had recently returned from being ill for two games.
In 20 games with the Condors, he has three assists and 54 penalty minutes. Brown played three games with the Oilers earlier in the season. He recorded seven penalty minutes and two shots while averaging 12:13 a game.

Brown signed with the Oilers over the summer before Stan Bowman was brought on to be the GM. He signed a three-year deal worth $1-million a season.
The Condors have a unique defense situation. Cam Dineen is currently the only left-handed defender they have./
Brown has played 293 games in the NHL, so he is not in the minors to develop as a player. Earlier in the year, Bowman said that he was there to get comfortable and find his game. The Oilers like what he brings, and it's better for him to sit in the press box on a road trip than a 22-year-old who needs the minutes to develop their game further.
What's Next For The Bakersfield Condors
On Sunday, the Condors will face a familiar foe: Raphael Lavoie and the Henderson Silver Knights. The Condors are coming off a 5-4 win over the Silver Knights on Friday night.
Matt Savoie led the team offensively with one goal and two assists, with one of those assists coming off of Lane Pederson's game-winner in overtime. Lavoie of the Silver Knights recorded an assist in the loss.
