Oilers Forward Can't Stop Scoring Goals

EDMONTON -- Once you pop the fun don't stop.

That might be the slogan for Pringles, but it certainly applies to hockey. It's certainly been the case for one Edmonton Oilers forward.

Leon Draisaitl has been stellar all year. His commitment to developing his defensive game has been impressive, and his offense has also been next-level.

Draisaitl has been in a league of his own (with Connor McDavid following closely behind) a few others are starting to find their own scoring touch. Primarily, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

The Oilers forward has scored a goal in three straight games. Nugent-Hopkins has four goals in the past five games. He's only scored 10 goals over the entire year. Two of his four goals have come on the powerplay.

He has been shooting a good amount over that time, with 13 shots fired on goal.

In Nugent-Hopkins' last game, he scored one goal on two shots. The Oilers forward played 19:58, including 1:24 with the man advantage and 2:15 on the penalty kill.

Additionally, the Oilers have faired well when he has scored. In fact, when Nugent-Hopkins scores a goal, the Oilers have a 9-0-1 record. That's pretty impressive for not being the top point producer on an already impressive team.

Time will tell if Nugent-Hopkins can keep up this incredible goal-scoring pace. One thing is for certain, though - the Oilers are better off when he finds the back of the net.
