Nail Yakupov gives Oilers fans a taste of what they're missing

The 'Yak Attack' is back in Edmonton but this time he's wearing a St. Louis Blues uniform.

After being selected first overall in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers, Nail Yakupov spend four seasons with the Oil. That came to an end Oct. 7 when he was traded to the Blues.

Despite wearing opposing colours, Edmonton fans were elated to see Nail Yakupov back on their home ice ...

... even if he did repay them by scoring for the Blues.

While Oilers fans expressed their loyalty to the Russian-born hockey player, he also paid respect to his former club while maintaining allegiance to the Blues.

Prior to puck drop, Yakupov admitted being back in Edmonton is "weird" and "different," but otherwise he was doing fine.

Edmonton seemed torn between cheering for their team or Yakupov. Nonetheless, they showed nothing but class towards the former Oiler, which hasn't always been the case.

Whatever the true reason may have been for Yakupov's trade to the St. Louis Blues ...

... the mutual admiration between the Oilers and Yakupov is what makes sport great.

The Edmonton Oilers aired a video tribute to Yakupov during the first TV timeout of the game.

That's what we call a 'class act'.

The Oilers ended up winning 3-1.
