OGC Nice consider Luton Town’s Teden Mengi as Jean-Clair Todibo replacement

Jean-Clair Todibo (24) is still at OGC Nice; he even competed in the club’s first pre-season game, a 2-2 draw against fellow INEOS-owned Lausanne-Sport on Wednesday. However, amid significant interest from the Premier League, notably West Ham United, and Juventus, there is an acceptance that he will almost certainly leave Le Gym this summer. The club’s hierarchy are happy to sanction a departure, accepting that now may be the best time for both parties to part ways.

Nice are therefore putting in place a contingency plan in the event of Todibo’s likely departure. Foot Mercato understands that Teden Mengi (22) is being considered by Le Gym as a replacement for the France international. Whilst Luton Town were relegated from the Premier League last season, Mengi nonetheless took his chance to impress, following his move from formative club – and another INEOS-owned club, Manchester United.

Les Aiglons are very interested in bringing the England youth international to the Allianz Riviera, however, they may face competition from Fulham, who are in the market for a replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo. Luton Town are reportedly looking for a fee between €12-14m to sell Mengi.
