Official: Tommaso Pobega joins Bologna on loan with option to buy deal
Bologna have today confirmed the signing of Tommaso Pobega, who will join them on an initial loan deal from AC Milan.
On their official website, Bologna FC 1909 announced that they have acquired the sporting rights of midfielder Tommaso Pobega from AC Milan on a temporary basis until 30 June 2025, with the option for a permanent acquisition.
It is the latest in a long list of loan spells for Pobega, who worked with Vincenzo Italiano – the current Bologna boss – at Spezia in 2020-21, and he was the second-highest scorer for the team as they achieved survival.
The Italian then went to Ivan Juric’s Torino where he showed consistency and after a good run with the Italy Under 21 side, his first call-up to the senior national team came from Roberto Mancini. He made his debut for the Azzurri in June 2022 at the Dall’Ara, against Germany.
Pobega will also bring Champions League experience to Bologna who will have their first foray into the competition this season, given he has made 12 appearances in the competition for the Rossoneri, scoring one goal.
It has been reported that the option to buy figure in the deal is somewhere around €10-15m, which would be a pure capital gain for Milan given Pobega is an academy graduate.
