Official | Thomas Meunier joins Lille as a free agent
Belgium international right-back Thomas Meunier (32) has joined Lille OSC as a free agent, the Ligue 1 has announced. The 32-year-old right-back is making a return to Ligue 1 after spending four seasons at Paris Saint-Germain between 2016 and 2020. Meunier then signed for Borussia Dortmund. Last February, he signed for Türkish Süper Lig side Trabzonspor. He terminated his contract with the latter a few days ago.

Meunier has signed a two-year contract with Lille, tying him to the Ligue 1 side until 2026. He will wear the #12 jersey with Les Dogues. The 66-time Belgium international is also able to play as a centre-back. “I’m very happy to be here. Lille presented itself as the perfect choice, from a sporting and family point of view.” Bruno Genesio’s Lille are set to play in two qualifying rounds for the Champions League next month. Should they fail to qualify, they would play in the Europa League group stage.
