Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele (27) has officially joined OGC Nice as a free agent, the INEOS-owned Ligue 1 club has announced. The 27-year-old France international was a free agent following the termination of his contract at Tottenham Hotspur. Tanguy Ndombele has signed a two-year contract with Les Aiglons. The Longjumeau-born midfielder is returning to Ligue 1 on the back of his breakthrough seasons at Olympique Lyonnais that earned him a €62m move to North London in 2019.

Tanguy Ndombele featured 91 times for the Spurs, logging ten goals and nine assists. He progressively fell out of favour with the Premier League club and was loaned out to Lyon, Napoli and Galatasaray in the past seasons. The 7-time France international and Tottenham Hotspur eventually agreed to part ways, paving the way for Tanguy Ndombele to find a new challenge.

At Nice, Tanguy Ndombele will be a ready-made replacement for the Juventus-bound Khéphren Thuram. “As soon as I was presented with the Nice project, I did not hesitate”, Tanguy Ndombele said. “I am happy and proud to join the Gym. There are great collective ambitions and I have my own challenges to take on”.
