Official: Sevilla secure key contract renewal

La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Monday announced a contract renewal for a leading member of the club’s defensive ranks.

The player in question? Loïc Badé.

The name of stopper Badé, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Andalusia over the course of the last week.

This comes, first, after the Frenchman was hotly tipped for a Sevilla departure.

Amid a significant offer on the part of Serie A giants AS Roma, the 24-year-old is understood to have taken into serious consideration bringing the Nervionenses chapter of his career to a close.

In the end, however, as the Spanish transfer deadline came and passed, Badé opted to stay put.

And, as alluded to above, it has not taken those in a position of power at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán at all long to reward their defensive stalwart for his loyalty.

As per a statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms:

‘Loïc Badé has signed a contract renewal that will keep him at the club until June 2029.’
