Official: Sevilla announce new striker signing
La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Monday announced a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms with García Pimienta’s side? Akor Adams.
The name of frontman Adams had of course proven a prominent one in the headlines in Andalusia over the course of the last couple of weeks.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Nigerian had been identified as a leading January transfer target on the part of the Sevilla brass.
Desperate to secure fresh blood up top with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign, the Nervionenses, in turn, recently opened discussions over a deal with their counterparts at Montpellier.
And, as alluded to above, on Monday, such talks have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms:
‘Sevilla FC and French side Montpellier HSC have reached an agreement for the signing of Akor Jerome Adams to the red-and-white team.’
Adams has put pen to paper on a contract through the summer of 2029, and will make use of the no.15 jersey recently vacated by Gonzalo Montiel.
The transfer is understood to have set Sevilla back a sum in the region of €5.5 million.
