Official | Martin Terrier sustains season-ending Achilles injury
Bayer Leverkusen striker Martin Terrier (27) will miss the remainder of the 2024-2025 season. The French forward has sustained a season-ending Achilles injury during the Bundesliga champions’ Saturday 3-1 home win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Bayer Leverkusen confirmed this Sunday that Terrier has torn his right Achilles. The former Stade Rennais striker will undergo surgery on Monday.

Fight back strong, Martin. We'll be there with you! 🙏 pic.twitter.com/ubQMSUDwwE— Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_en) January 19, 2025
“This is a bitter blow for Martin and also for us as a club. But we will support him wherever we can“, said Bayer 04 Sporting Director Simon Rolfes. “Something similar happened to Charles Aránguiz once, and he also became an absolute top player at Bayer 04 after his injury.” Terrier will, unfortunately, reunite with former Rennes teammate Jeanuël Belocian on the sidelines as the centre-back is currently injured after tearing his ACL. Terrier has logged four goal contributions in all competitions with Xabi Alonso’s side this season.
