Official: Mario Hermoso joins Roma

Roma have officially announced Mario Hermoso’s signing in free agency.

“AS Roma are delighted to announce that Mario Hermoso has joined the club,” reads the announcement.

“The left-footed defender, 29, has made over 300 professional appearances as a centre-back and left-back.

Hermoso started out in the Real Madrid youth academy. Since beginning his senior career, he has played for Real Valladolid, Espanyol, and Atletico Madrid, where he has remained for the past five seasons. He won La Liga with Diego Simeone’s side in the 2020/21 season and also has Champions League experience.

Mario has chosen to wear the number 22 shirt. Hermoso is also the 18^th Spanish player in Giallorossi history to join the men’s first team.
