Official: Lucas Vazquez signs new one-year contract at Real Madrid

Following the announcement of Luka Modric’s renewal, Real Madrid have now officially confirmed that another veteran star, Lucas Vazquez, has penned a new one-year contract at the club.

Vazquez’s previous deal ran out on June 30, but an agreement over a new deal had been in place for some time and now it has been made official.

Vazquez has been at Real Madrid since 2007, when he joined the club’s youth academy. Barring a season on loan at RCD Espanyol, the 33-year-old has spent his entire career at the Spanish capital side.

Vazquez has made 349 appearances thus far for Real Madrid, proving his worth as a utility man on the right flank, be it as a winger or a right-back.

A four-time La Liga winner, Vazquez also has five UEFA Champions League trophies to his name and will be hoping to add more to his tally in the coming season now that he has renewed his contract.
