Lille OSC have revealed that Matias Fernandez-Pardo (19) suffered a torn ligament in his left ankle during the side’s 1-1 draw with FC Nantes on Saturday. The winger was replaced by Osame Sahraoui ten minutes into the game. Les Dogues have not provided a timescale for when they think that the Belgian attacker will return to the team.

Fernandez-Pardo returned to Lille this summer having first joined the club’s academy system in 2014. He would leave France to continue his progress in 2020 back in his home country with Gent. The Belgian Pro League side would allow him with his first taste of professional football when they provided him with his debut.

The winger has taken important strides this season having earned the trust of head coach Bruno Génésio who has fielded him in all the Champions League games (excluding the 1-0 victory over Real Madrid). Pardo also registered his first and only goal for Lille in the 2-2 draw with OGC Nice in November.
