Official: Genoa sign Onana and Ellertsson
Genoa have officially signed midfielder Jean Onana from Besiktas and Venezia forward Mikael Egill Ellertsson.
The Grifone continue to revamp the squad during the January transfer window and completed two signings over the last 24 hours.
However, in the case of Ellertsson, he will not come to Marassi until next season, as he is going to remain at Venezia until June 30 on loan.
The cost of that operation was reported to be €3.5m in cash.
Genoa bring in two new buys
Onana also underwent his medical this afternoon and put pen to paper for the loan from Besiktas with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has 10 senior caps for Cameroon and his previous clubs include Olympique Marseille and Lens.
The club announced the transfer with a mock-up of an Oasis record.
Meanwhile, Mario Balotelli is seeking a new club after failing to make a dent in Patrick Vieira’s squad.
