Official: Ferguson gets Bologna contract extension
Bologna have made clear to Lewis Ferguson he’s a key player in Vincenzo Italiano’s side by handing him a new contract which aims to keep him at the Stadio Dall’Ara until 2029.
The Scotland international has just returned after missing more than six months of action through an ACL injury, but his time on the sidelines hasn’t affected his status as one of the most important Rossoblu players, even after a change of coach.
Bologna confirm Ferguson’s contract extension
Bologna have confirmed in an official statement that they found an agreement with Ferguson to renew his contract until 30 June 2028, with an option to extend the deal for another season.
The 25-year-old joined the Rossoblu from Aberdeen in the summer of 2022 and scored 13 Serie A goals throughout his first two seasons at the Stadio Dall’Ara, establishing himself as one of the most consistent and prolific midfielders in Italian football.
He recently returned to play in his side’s 1-0 win over Lecce, before also making his seasonal Champions League debut a few days later, both times as a second-half substitute.
