Official: Carlo Ancelotti nominated for 2024 Men’s Team Coach of the Year Trophy
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is in the running to win the 2024 Men’s Team Coach of the Year Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony later this year.
Indeed, the Italian tactician has been named among the six managers who will be in contention to take home the prestigious honour, awarded by France Football in October.
Ancelotti enjoyed an exceptionally successful season with Real Madrid in 2023/24, winning the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, and the UEFA Champions League to add to his mind-boggling trophy tally.

The Real Madrid manager’s nomination, as such, comes as no surprise. However, he will have some tough competition to win the award.
After all, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is also in the running for the honour as is Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso after overseeing a domestic ‘invincible’ double campaign and a final run in the UEFA Europa League.
Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini, who bested Alonso in the Europa League finals, is also in the running.
Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni is also nominated after leading his team to yet another Copa America. Spain’s UEFA Euro 2024-winning coach Luis de la Fuente is also in the running.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also in the running to win an award as the team has been nominated for the Men’s Club of the Year honour.
Los Blancos, as mentioned earlier, oversaw an exceptionally successful campaign in 2023/24 and are very much in contention to walk away with the award.
