Official: Barcelona star left out of squad to face Real Sociedad

Barcelona star Héctor Fort has not been included in the club’s travelling squad for their upcoming meeting with Real Sociedad.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course primed to return to action later this evening.

In the midst of a stellar run of form, Barcelona will make the trip to Anoeta, with sights on securing an eighth successive victory across all competitions at the expense of the aforementioned Real Sociedad.

In efforts towards as much, however, one player who will play no part comes in the form of Héctor Fort.

Youngster Fort, for his part, had been tipped by some to feature from the off in the clash, in the case of Jules Koundé being shifted into a central-defensive role to cover for Pau Cubarsí (facial injury).

This, though, will not be the case.

As confirmed in an accompanying statement alongside Barcelona’s matchday squad release:

‘Héctor Fort has lower back pain and misses the Real Sociedad match.’
