Official: Barcelona squad list to face Real Betis – no Ansu Fati once again
As Barcelona get set to take on Real Betis in the Copa del Rey Round of 16 later tonight, manager Hansi Flick has released the squad list of players for the clash.
Having won the Spanish Super Cup over the weekend, the Blaugrana will be gunning for another victory that will take them into the Copa del Rey quarterfinals tonight.
However, they will have to make do without the services of key defender Inigo Martinez, whose injury was confirmed on Tuesday, sidelining him for four weeks.
Meanwhile, Flick has excluded out-of-favour forward Ansu Fati for the third game in a row, sending a clear message that the Barcelona No. 10 is no longer a part of his plans, opening the doors for his exit this month.
Wojciech Szczesny also misses out on account of his red card in the Super Cup final which earned him a one-match ban.
Pablo Torre returns, though, after not being part of the squad for the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid. Youngster Toni Fernandez, though, does not make the cut.
Andreas Christensen has also not been included, with Flick confirming that the Dane will return against Getafe at the weekend. Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Marc Bernal are long-term absentees.
