As Barcelona get set to kick off their La Liga campaign later tonight with a game against Valencia away at Mestalla, the club registered a number of players on Friday.

Indeed, the likes of Inigo Martinez, Marc Casado, Pablo Torre, and new signing Pau Victor were all registered with La Liga so that Hansi Flick could call upon them for the clash.

The shirt numbers for the ones registered were also confirmed, barring Pau Victor.

But now, it is confirmed that the 22-year-old new signing will be wearing the No. 18 shirt at Barcelona this season.

Victor, who was the top scorer in pre-season for Barça, will take over the No. 18 shirt that became vacant after Oriol Romeu left for Girona on loan earlier this summer.

Before Romeu, club legend Jordi Alba wore the No. 18 jersey for a decade. Now, Victor will take over the shirt and hope to live up to the legacy of a legend like Alba.

The young forward, who joined from Girona in a deal worth around €3 million, was one of the biggest positives of the pre-season for Barcelona and will hope to carry his form forward into the actual season.

With Victor’s registration and shirt number now confirmed, Barcelona are only left to register their other new arrival, Dani Olmo, who will be the club’s new No. 20.
