Official: Barcelona sign Óscar Ureña
La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday announced a fresh addition to the club’s youth ranks.
The player in question? Óscar Ureña.
Ureña, for his part, is a 21-year-old attacker, who generally operates on the wing.
The starlet spent the last two seasons out on loan from Girona, enjoying productive stints with both Cartegana, and Leganés.
Impressed by his endeavours with the latter last season, the transfer team at the aforementioned Barcelona, in turn, kickstarted negotiations with their counterparts at Catalan rivals Girona.
Such talks were initially understood to have come with a view to a loan move to the Blaugrana.
On Monday, though, Barca Atlètic have announced the capture of Ureña on a permanent basis.
The Spain-born winger, who represents the Dominican Republic at international level, has put pen to paper on terms with Albert Sánchez’s troops through the summer of 2026:
‘FC Barcelona and Girona FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Óscar Ureña, who joins Barça Atlètic and signs a two-year contract, until June 30, 2026.’
