FC Barcelona have issued an official statement confirming that the club has indeed applied for new registrations for Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, while also denying that they have been offered an extension on the deadline for the same.

The Blaugrana have until midnight tonight to complete the registrations of Olmo and Victor. If not done, the duo will be ineligible to play for the club in the second half of the season.

Only a while back, reports emerged suggesting that the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) had granted a three-day extension on the deadline for the Catalans to register their star duo, although they were soon dismissed.

Now, Barcelona have officially confirmed that they have not requested any extension nor has any governing body granted it to them.

“FC Barcelona informs that it has requested a new license from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for players Daniel Olmo and Pau Victor,” the statement read.

“Likewise, the club wishes to deny that it has requested or received any extension from any other organization for the registration requested.”

It now means that Barça have less than four hours left to receive approval from La Liga concerning the €100 million sale of the Spotify Camp Nou VIP seats which would allow them to register Olmo and Victor.

Barcelona have forwarded all the relevant documentation to the league, who are carefully validating them before sanctioning the approval.
