Over the past couple of days, Barcelona have announced the contract renewals of two of the most prodigious young talents from La Masia in Oscar Gistau and Toni Fernandez.

Now, the Blaugrana have officially confirmed that another jewel from the academy, Guille Fernandez, has signed a new contract with the club.

“The player Guillermo Fernández has signed, in the presence of the manager Soler Ferre and the director of Training Football, José Ramon Alexanco, his continuity at the club in his youth stage,” the statement from the club read.

Guille Fernandez, 16, already made history last season when he beat Lamine Yamal’s record to become the youngest player to feature for Barcelona Atletic.

The young attacking midfield talent went on to play eight games for Rafa Marquez’s side, even assisting a solitary goal in the process.

Guille Fernandez had proposals from some big clubs across Europe but only wanted to succeed at Barcelona and has penned a three-year deal until 2027.

Currently doing pre-season with the senior team under new manager Hansi Flick, Guille Fernandez is expected to grow in stature in the reserve team setup in the upcoming campaign before eventually breaking into the first-team squad.
