Official | Atalanta’s Mitchel Bakker joins Lille on loan
Atalanta BC versatile left-back Mitchel Bakker (24) has joined Lille OSC on a loan until the end of the season, both clubs have announced. This will mark a return to Ligue 1 for Bakker who spent two seasons in France when he joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 from his formative club Ajax. The defender managed to win the league title in his first season despite only making one league appearance for the club. Lille OSC were in the market for a left-back on the back of Ismaily’s meniscus injury.

Bakker eventually left for Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 where he found more regular game time but again exited after two seasons to join Atalanta where he was used predominantly from the bench as he made 20 appearances across all competitions. The Dutch defender remains tied with Atalanta with a contract set to expire in 2027. He will reunite at Lille with former PSG teammate Thomas Meunier. Bakker will wear the #20 jersey with Les Dogues.
