Official: Another Barcelona star signs new long-term contract

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday announced a contract renewal for yet another of the club’s leading stars.

The latest player to have committed his long-term future to the Blaugrana? Pedri.

The subject of contract extensions has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last week.

This comes after two members of Hansi Flick’s squad were tied down to fresh terms.

First up came Ronald Araújo, before fellow defender Gerard Martín quickly followed suit last Friday.

And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, the impressive work being done behind the scenes at the Camp Nou has only continued.

This comes amid confirmation that midfield standout Pedri, in the midst of a brilliant individual campaign, has also signed a new deal.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms:

‘FC Barcelona and the player, Pedro González “Pedri”, have agreed a contact renewal and he is set to stay with the Club until 30 June 2030.

‘The Blaugrana midfielder signed his new contract today in the presence of FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, first vice-president Rafa Yuste, and the Club’s director of football Anderson Luis de Souza “Deco”.’
