AC Milan resume their Serie A campaign in Sunday’s early kick-off, welcoming Parma to San Siro hoping to avenge defeat in the reverse fixture.

With Juventus having lost last night and with Lazio playing Fiorentina later on (plus Bologna drawing with Empoli), the door has opened again for Milan to gain ground in the top four race.

However, they have previously failed to take advantage of this situation multiple times this season already, so Sergio Conceicao will be looking for the right signs after the Girona win in midweek.

The official starting XIs

In terms of injury news, Milan will be without Emerson Royal – who should miss 8-12 weeks – plus Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Malick Thiaw and Alessando Florenzi. Noah Okafor, Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze boost the forward options though.

There is only one change from the XI that beat Girona in the Champions League and it comes on the right side of the attack, where Pulisic gets the nod over Yunus Musah. He will have Alvaro Morata and Rafael Leao to his left.

The midfield trio of Youssouf Fofana, Ismael Bennacer and Tijjani Reijnders remain. The Frenchman must be careful though: he is one booking away from a one-game Serie A suspension, and the next league game is the derby.

Mike Maignan will have a back four of Davide Calabria, Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez ahead of him, the rearguard that kept a clean sheet on Wednesday.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Gabbia, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Bennacer; Pulisic, Reijnders, Leao; Morata.
