Offensive Struggles Return; Blue Jackets Beat Sharks 4-1
After scoring six goals on Tuesday, the San Jose Sharks only scored once on Thursday, as the Columbus Blue Jackets won 4-1.
San Jose seemed a step behind the entire night and only registered 19 shots on goal. Toffoli scored a goal for a second straight game, and Macklin Celebrini earned an assist to extend his point streak to three.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic skated in his 1,300th career game, becoming the 21st defenseman ever to achieve that feat in NHL history. Alexandar Georgiev made 30 saves.
Adam Fantilli, Kent Johnson, and James Van Riemsdyk (2) all scored for the Blue Jackets, who have won six straight. Zach Werenski extended his home-point streak to 18 games. Elvis Merzlikins made 18 saves.
