Oettinger Continues Hot Streak With 30-Save Performance In Montreal

The Dallas Stars picked up their seventh-straight win Saturday night, taking home a 2-1 win in a shootout. The lone goal in regulation for the Stars came in the second period from Jaimie Benn to tie the game at one. From there on, the Stars relied on tight defense and solid goaltending. Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger shut the door from that moment, finishing the game with 30 saves.

Jake Oettinger was one of the early Vezina Trophy favorites heading into the beginning of the season and has backed up that sentiment with a record of 20-9-1 heading into last night's tilt with Montreal. The Dallas netminder sealed the Star's seventh-straight win with a victory-sealing stop on Montreal's Nick Suzuki in Round 3 of the shootout. While picking up his 21st win of the season, the fifth-year goaltender also padded his goals-against average to 2.35, placing him 7th among goaltenders in the NHL. Oettinger has been on a hot streak over his last five games. The 26-year-old is currently on a five-game win streak, putting up a save percentage of .923.

The Dallas Stars aim to extend their winning streak to eight when they take on the Senators in Ottawa. Oettinger will likely get the day off, giving way Casey DeSmith getting the start.
