O Canada singer holds up 'All Lives Matter' sign at All-Star game

A Canadian Anthem singer held up an “All Lives Matter” sign while singing “O Canada” before the 2016 All-Star game. The singer is a member of The Tenors, a Canadian vocal quartet selected to perform the song during the event.

The signing of “O Canada” was not televised in the United States, but some members of the media were able to snap a picture of the sign as the group was out on the field.

The group also altered the lyrics of “O Canada” to include a line with the phrase “all lives matter.”

The added line was, “We’re all brothers and sisters. All lives matter to the brave.”

That line does not appear in the traditional O Canada lyrics. It looks like the Tenors added it specifically for their All-Star game performance.

During the game, The Tenors sent out a tweet apologizing for the actions of singer Remigio Pereira, who acted as a lone wolf. Pereira was also responsible for the changed lyric. He did this in order to “serve his own political views,” according to The Tenors.

At the end of the statement, The Tenors said Pereira will not be performing with the group “until further notice.”
