It's Now or Never for Bruins Top Prospect
With the losses of wingers like Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen, there are clear spots in the Boston Bruins' lineup to fight for on the wing. Bruins GM Don Sweeney's big additions this summer were at the center and defense positions, so now is a prime opportunity for a Bruins winger to get a promotion.

When looking at the Bruins' roster, one clear prospect who should be in the running for an NHL spot is Fabian Lysell. The Bruins' most notable hole is at the 2RW spot, and Lysell has a golden chance in front of him to secure it. Yet, even if the Bruins elect to go with a player like Morgan Geekie or Trent Frederic for the 2RW role, there would still be a spot for him to fight for on their third line.
Thus, there is a real possibility that Lysell could earn himself an NHL job this season. There has not been as good of an opportunity for him before, but for him to make the team, he will need to prove to the Bruins that he is ready to make the jump. If he is not, that may create some questions.

Lysell, 21, just had an excellent season with the Providence Bruins in 2023-24, posting 15 goals and 50 points in 56 games. This was after he posted a 37-point campaign during his first year in Providence, so he took a step forward in his development. But will it be enough for him to get on the Bruins' NHL roster? Time will tell.
We will now need to wait and see if Lysell can impress during the preseason and secure a spot in the Bruins' top six or top nine for the start of the regular season. This is his best chance to.
