A proposed move to West Ham for Noussair Mazraoui has collapsed, with the player reportedly waiting for Manchester United to swoop in for him.

It’s looking increasingly likely that United will part ways with Aaron Wan-Bissaka – who has entered the final 12 months of his contract – this summer.

Amidst interest in his services from clubs such as West Ham, Crystal Palace and Inter Milan, it was stated that United even lowered their asking price to £10 million in an effort to offload him.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Wan-Bissaka rejected the possibility of joining West Ham as his top priority is to sign for Inter.

One player mentioned to be on United’s radar as a potential replacement for Wan-Bissaka is Mazraoui. It’s understood that Ten Hag is of the opinion that Mazraoui can help unlock the ineffective Antony, who has struggled to have an impact at Old Trafford since his switch from Ajax.

On Thursday, United were dealt a huge blow as it emerged that Mazraoui was on the brink of moving to West Ham, after the Hammers and Bayern reached an agreement over his transfer fee.

However, the reliable Florian Plettenberg has now revealed that the deal has collapsed, paving the way for Mazraoui to be reunited with Erik ten Hag.

The Sky Germany reporter wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Noussair Mazraoui deal with West Ham is OFF!”

“No agreement on agent‘s side has been reached. Despite the agreement between the clubs (15,5 + 4) and on player‘s side West Ham now have left the negotiations.”

“Manchester United now pushing to sign Mazraoui. Advanced talks.”

Plettenberg’s information was corroborated by journalist Hanif Ben Berkane who relayed, “Contrary to what has been suggested, Noussair Mazraoui is not close to West Ham.”

“The Moroccan is not excited by the Hammers and is mainly waiting for Manchester United. Juventus also on it.”

The 26-year-old made 19 Bundesliga appearances in the 2023/24 season. In that period, he helped Bayern keep seven clean sheets.
