Nottingham Forest hold onto a precious three points and move level on points with second placed Arsenal after a 3-2 victory over Southampton. Forest were in control thanks to fine strikes from Anderson and Hudson-Odoi and a header from Wood in the first half had them 3-0 up at the break. They dominated proceedings in the second half until Bednarek diverted Ugochukwu's strike over Sels and gave Southampton a lifeline. Milenkovic thought he had quickly restoted Forest's three-goal advantage but his header was ruled out by the referee after a VAR review. It became a tense finale when Onuachu headed home a Fernandes corner but despite pressing hard for an equaliser in the 12 minutes of added time, Forest held on. Southampton stay 10 points adrift of saftey at the bottom of the Premier League table. The Saints had an xG of 0.88 compared to 1.90 for the hosts.
