Nottingham Forest join Inter in battle for Udinese defender Bijol

Udinese defender Jaka Bijol impressed for Slovenia at EURO 2024 and has earned interest from Inter, Wolfsburg, Stuttgart and Nottingham Forest.

The centre-back showed rugged defending in the group stage with England, where they held on for a 0-0 draw and progressed to the Round of 16, losing to Portugal only on penalties.

Those performances at EURO 2024 put Bijol’s name on the map and at the age of 25 it might be time he move on from Udinese.

Bijol ready to leave Udinese

He first joined from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2022 for €4m and Udinese owe the Russian side a 10 per cent cut of the future sell-on fee.

According to Sportitalia via FCInterNews.it, he has attracted interest from the likes of Inter within Serie A, German sides Wolfsburg and Stuttgart, but also the Premier League with Nottingham Forest making an approach.

Bologna, Napoli and Lazio had also been linked, but the asking price for Bijol is at least €10-15m, especially as he is under contract until June 2027.
