Simons and Rabiot are not in Man United’s transfer plans

Manchester United are unlikely to pursue moves for Xavi Simons and Adrien Rabiot this summer, according to Telegraph journalist James Ducker.

Man United are looking to bolster their squad and have been linked with Simons and Rabiot.

The Dutchman enjoyed a fine season on loan with RB Leipzig, bagging ten goals and 15 assists from 43 appearances.

Paris Saint-Germain may only sanction a loan exit for the attacking midfielder as they owe a significant sell-on fee to PSV Eindhoven if he is sold by January 2025.

United have been watching Simons closely. However, a transfer move for the young talent appears increasingly challenging.

Rabiot is without a club after his contract with Juventus expired on June 30.

United have plenty of attacking options after signing Joshua Zirkzee and reintegrating Jadon Sancho into the squad.

The Red Devils are prioritising signing a defensive midfielder with Casemiro linked with an exit.

The signs of his decline were pretty evident last season as he failed to cope with the intensity of the Premier League.

He is one of the club’s highest-paid players, and his departure would free up a considerable part of the wage bill.

United have agreed personal terms with Ugarte and are negotiating a transfer fee with PSG.

The 23-year-old is known for strong tackling, positional awareness and ability to break up play.

Rabiot has been regularly linked with an Old Trafford move over the last two years.

United tried to sign him the previous summer, but discussions stalled as the two parties couldn’t agree terms.

The 29-year-old does not fit the club’s profile of signings and is unlikely to move to Old Trafford.
