'Not interested': Journalist backs up claim that Liverpool transfer rumour is FALSE
A second journalist has backed up a claim that recent rumours surrounding Liverpool and Adrien Rabiot are in fact false.
The Daily Mail's Lewis Steele says there is absolutely nothing in claims that Liverpool are pushing to sign Adrien Rabiot. The French midfielder is currently without a club after leaving Juventus last month.
That means he's available on a free transfer and Liverpool have consistently seen their name put with Rabiot's. There have even been recent claims that the 29-year-old was going to reject an offer from Anfield in order to sign for Manchester United.

But Steele says that's not true - there is no offer from Anfield.
"Liverpool not interested in signing free agent Adrien Rabiot," he wrote on X. "Quite a lot of reports saying he is set to choose Manchester United over them. Liverpool were never in for the 29-year-old."
That backs up similar comments from Fabrizio Romano, who suggests that there's plenty of interest in Rabio from the Premier League but it isn't coming from Liverpool.
"Adrien Rabiot dreams of Premier League football, his priority as free agent,” says Romano on X. "Rabiot also has proposals from other leagues… but still waiting for PL clubs.
"Liverpool are NOT working on a deal to sign Rabiot, despite recent links."
Liverpool don't want Adrien Rabiot
Rabiot never made sense for Liverpool as a 29-year-old who plays in a well-stocked position. Even on a free transfer, it just didn't feel right for the squad.
If Liverpool do want to sign a new midfielder, we imagine they'll either be a more defensive player than Rabiot or they'll be significantly younger. And even then, it feels unlikely that they sign either.
Rabiot won't be on his way to Anfield, then, and it remains to be seen if any midfielder will be. In fact, at this point, it remains to be seen if any player will be.
