'Not Fun When He Goes Down, He's Really Good': Wild Lose Brock Faber To Upper-Body Injury

ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild (26-11-4) lost defenseman Brock Faber to an upper-body injury in their 6-4 win over the St. Louis Blues (19-19-4) on Tuesday night.

As for an update from the Wild's head coach John Hynes on Faber after the win?

"I don't have anything on Brock."

Faber, 22, has played in 125 straight games. He has yet to miss a game in his career. He played the last few months of the 2023-24 season with fractured ribs and suffered a injury scare earlier in the season that sent him to the Hospital after getting hit with a puck to his neck.

Yet, Faber has never missed a game in parts of three seasons with the Wild.

His injury came in the first period after he skated in just six shifts. He did not return to the game and was ruled out with an upper-body injury. The Wild then let up four unanswered goals but were able to come back with four of their own.

"Not fun when he goes down. He's really good. A really big part of our team, so it's not fun to see him go down," Jonas Brodin said on his defense partner. "But I think, like everyone, we have to step up and I think we did. Flower came in and played great. I thought it was a good team game."

When watching Faber's shifts tonight it is hard to really see where an injury occurred. Other than at the 19:27 mark of the first period when Jake Neighbours hit Faber in the head with his elbow.

The Wild will not practice tomorrow or have media availability so we won't hear from Hynes until Thursday when the Wild face the Colorado Avalanche.
