You know how some people spend days leading up to Memorial Day trying to find their song of the summer? Well, I do that with dresses.
The thrill I get when I find a flowy summer dress that’s so timeless, so darling and so perfectly perfect that my heart gets caught in my throat is otherwordly. Like, the world seems clearer, and my tiny one-bedroom apartment suddenly becomes the garden where Mia had her foot-popping kiss in The Princess Diaries. More or less.
This year, I got that feeling from this summer floral midi dress while mindlessly scrolling for dress deals at Nordstrom Rack (which are so good right now). It honestly might be love at first sight. Just don’t tell my fiancé I said that.
Currently on sale at Nordstrom Rack for just over $35, I can already feel that the Blu Pepper Floral Stripe Tie Strap Maxi Dress will make all of my flirty summer dress dreams come true. You deserve to feel the same:
The refined cottagecore-y midi dress has so many stunning details without being overwhelming. There are the tie straps attached to a square neckline that match the tiered border trim, the universally flattering high waistline and the breezy skirt. Then, of course, there’s the floral pattern because florals for summer are never overrated.
It’s also so easy to style. Like, the list is endless:
White sneakers and a large bag for a farmer’s market run and long walks through the city.
Delicate jewelry, a matching bow and ridiculously fun platform heels for a semi-formal summer wedding.
A pair of slides or espadrilles with chic black sunglasses for brunch.
Barefeet with my hair in a claw clip as a house dress for hot summer days when I want to feel pretty.
A bougie Loewe straw tote bag because a girl can dream.
While I immediately loved the mint and blue combo, the dress also comes in a sunny yellow, which you can peep below.
After clicking back and forth between the two colors for about an hour and sending links to every trusted group chat, I decided that I had to have both.
They’re also two totally different vibes. As an impulse spender with a penchant for darling and whimsical summer dresses, I needed both vibes! I mean, buying two of them is still cheaper than the original $110.91 price tag. Absolutely wild.
