Nolan Kneen Is Back In Wichita

The Wichita Thunder have announced the return of defenseman Nolan Kneen, signing the blueliner for the 2024-25 ECHL season.

A native of Kelowna, British Columbia, Kneen enters his fifth year as a pro. The 6-foot, 201-pound d-man was acquired in a trade with the Kalamazoo Wings last season.

In 64 games, Kneen tallied 17 points (4-13-17) and was named the club’s Most Improved Player.

Kneen made his pro debut in 2020-21 with the Allen Americans, playing two seasons in the Dallas Metroplex. He appeared in 25 games during 2020-21 before suffering a season-ending injury.

The following year, Kneen was loaned to the AHL's Charlotte Checkers for 18 games and tallied six points (1-5-6). He appeared in 60 games for the Florida Everblades during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 13 points (5-8-13) for the Kelly Cup champions.

Prior to turning pro, Kneen spent six seasons in the WHL. He played most of his career with the Kamloops Blazers.

During his overage year, he skated in 33 games for the Saskatoon Blades. Overall, Kneen tallied 139 points (28g, 111a) in 310 career WHL games.

Wichita opens the 2024-25 season on Friday, October 18 against the Kansas City Mavericks.
