No contact between James Rodriguez and Napoli

There has been no contact between Serie A side Napoli and James Rodriguez for a possible move this summer.

According to a report by Calcio Napoli 24, neither Napoli nor James Rodriguez’s entourage have initiated any contact with each other to talk of a potential transfer ahead of the new season. There have been a bunch of rumours linking the Colombian international to the Naples-based club but as of now, nothing has taken place.

The Partenopei attempted to sign Rodriguez during the Carlo Ancelotti era when Real Madrid were looking to sell him. However, they did not go forward with it due to economic reasons.

The 33-year-old had a Copa America tournament to remember and it has been a comeback for the forgotten Golden Boot winner of the 2014 World Cup. He has terminated his contract with Sao Paulo and is now looking at a move to Europe.

Napoli could secure him on an affordable salary but it is yet to be seen what happens in the next few days.
